David Lawrence Center’s Stop Abuse For Ever (SAFE) Program provides domestic violence intervention services to individuals who are experiencing legal consequences as a result of domestic conflicts. These services are coordinated between the Center, the State Attorney’s office, Collier County Probation and victim advocates throughout Collier County. The 24-week educational group therapy program helps individuals understand the causes of domestic violence and work toward changing violent or controlling behavior.

Upon enrollment into the program, each individual receives a comprehensive clinical assessment which examines the physical, mental and social aspects of an individual’s personal and family life. Through the assessment process, the individual may be referred for individual outpatient therapy for mental health and/or substance abuse problems.

The SAFE program provides education on:
  • Understanding the Causes of Domestic Violence
  • Changing and Controlling Violent Behaviors
  • Accepting Accountability
  • Developing Healthy Relationships Without the Use of Power and Control
These services are available in Naples and Immokalee.
