 Carol Shaw is the Executive Director of the David Lawrence Foundation which is dedicated to supporting and funding David Lawrence Center, Collier Countys community mental health and substance abuse treatment center.
As Executive Director, Carol is responsible for development and fundraising, board management and recruitment and overall agency management which includes the administration of the Foundations two furniture resale consignment shops, Encore.
Carol has more than twenty years of experience in not-for-profit fundraising. Originally from Chicago, IL, she formerly served as the Vice President of Development for Hazelden, a national substance abuse treatment center, and as Regional Vice President for American Cancer Society. She also served as a consultant to not-for-profit organizations with the firm Nike B. Whitcomb and Associates. In addition to her not-for-profit work, she has experience in antique/resale store operations and estate liquidation having formerly owned her own antique shop.
Carol attended the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University with majors in Public Administration and English. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, National Association for Female Executives, Chairman of the Business Retention Advisory Board and a Board Member of the Economic Development Council, and is a Board Member for the Substance Abuse Coalition of Collier County where she Chairs the Governance Committee. She is also a graduate of Greater Naples Leadership Class of 2005 where she currently serves on the Community Services Committee.
