Today, the David Lawrence Center continues to focus on its mission of meeting the mental health and substance abuse needs of Southwest Florida through compassionate, affordable, quality care. Adequate funding and the need for critical facility space continue to be the biggest challenges before the Center. Currently, a master site plan for the Golden Gate Parkway campus has been developed that includes an expansion of the adult crisis stabilization unit, the addition of a two story assessment center and education meeting room, new classrooms for Bridges and additional parking. Despite the growing need and success of community based treatment, governmental sources of revenue continue to diminish and cannot be relied upon to help the Center meet the needs of the community. The build out of this site plan cannot be realized without the financial support of our community.
