The Juvenile Substance Abuse Intervention Program addresses the substance abuse needs of youth ages 12-17 whose substance use has become problematic. This 8 week intervention group therapy offers short term counseling and education on chemical dependency. Each client will be randomly drug tested and required to attend one Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous meeting with a guardian and complete an essay.
The program includes education on six content areas:
- Chemical Dependency
- Taking the First Step
- Spirituality
- Feelings
- Relapse Prevention
- Life Management
Adolescents must meet certain clinical criteria to be entered into this intervention program determined through a clinical assessment.
